Originally set up in 2003 to drive the Genesis project forward from inception to completion of the bid, the original Board was disbanded in 2006 when Genesis opened to the public.
The Genesis Team are now moving ahead with the next phase of development focusing on regeneration of old buildings and renewable energies and a new Board is in the process of being set up again.
The original Board included Sir Michael Lickiss, Paul King and other luminaries of the sustainability and construction worlds.
The Genesis Centre comprises a main central structure partially intersected by a series of pavilions, each demonstrating a different approach to sustainable construction. The entire Centre is designed to easily accommodate future changes through the removal and replacement of any or all of the pavilions. The externally protruding portion of each pavilion is fully finished and weather tight, whilst the internally protruding sections have their fabric stripped away to reveal their construction. This is also where the main hub for the KEG project is and where most of the training courses are held.
