Last night Woodpecker Energy celebrated success at the Western Gazette Business Awards winning the Great Innovation Shown by a Business category.
The Western Gazette Business Awards celebrates the achievements of the business community throughout Somerset and Dorset, recognising innovation, talent and enterprise.
Our entry demonstrated to the judging panel how innovation is embraced within Woodpecker Energy and how, through the development of the Woodpecker Thermon, the business has been improved.
During the last 12 months 10 Woodpecker Thermon boilers have been installed in the UK. We estimate that, in comparison to heating oil, the heating generated by burning wood pellets will provide an annual carbon saving of over 871 tonnes. This is equivalent in carbon emission savings of the annual use of 155 cars or the energy use of over 68 homes!
Peter Gubb, Managing Director of Woodpecker Energy was thrilled to receive the award, presented by Blue Peter presenter Valerie Singleton ‘Woodpecker Energy sees innovation as a competency of its staff. As a business we encourage open and honest communication at all levels in the company and reward creative and enterprising thinking. We are extremely proud to call our Woodpecker Thermon wood pellet boiler an Award winning product!’
