Materials such as lime, timber and cob have been used in our buildings for many hundreds of years providing those buildings with essential attributes such as flexibility and breathability that have contributed to the longevity of these buildings. Now, with the push for sustainable construction, building materials that exhibit environmentally friendly and favourable qualities such as earth, straw, timber, lime, sheep's wool etc are enjoying renewed interest from the mainstream construction industry. The challenge, being taken up at present, is how to integrate these materials into modern working practices and site environments.
This CPD aims to empower those attending with the knowledge and confidence to specify 'natural materials' in appropriate situations and to raise awareness of the significant developments taking place that are radically changing opinions about the mainstream acceptance of 'natural materials'
The cost includes locally sourced lunch and certificate for all CPD Modules and may be accepted by your company or institution as five hours CPD.
